Large Diaphragm Tube Condenser Microphone

The Kiwara KA-251E is a modern homage to the ELAM 251E, the early-1960s tube condenser that became a fixture on some of the most celebrated records ever made. It brings that warm, open and detailed sound into today’s studios.

A CK12-style capsule, a T14/1 output transformer and a 6072A tube shape its voice, while cardioid, omnidirectional and figure-8 patterns cover vocals, acoustic instruments and room miking. The power supply, tube cable, shock mount and wooden case all come in the box.

A Classic Voice, Rebuilt
Kiwara set out to capture the character of the ELAM 251E, not just its looks. A precision-tuned capsule modelled on the CK12 provides the openness, a true-to-vintage T14/1 output transformer adds lush harmonics and depth, and a carefully selected 6072A tube brings smooth, natural saturation.

Sits Right in the Mix
The KA-251E delivers a rich, dimensional sound with silky highs that stay clear of harshness, balanced mids and a deep, full low end. With three polar patterns to choose from, it is as at home on lead vocals and acoustic guitar as it is on a room pair.

Built the Traditional Way
Point-to-point wiring and high-grade components sit inside an all-metal housing with vintage-style switching, so the microphone feels as solid as it sounds.

Cable, Connector and Power
The KA-251E ships with a high-definition tube cable that ends in a 7-pin XLR at the power supply and a swivel stand-mount connector at the microphone, in the manner of the original. A custom power supply is included to keep the tube running clean and stable.
